Video Business is reporting that Sony is including the first episode of the Blood+ anime series (which is currently airing on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim) on several DVDs including Loch Ness Terror, which will be released on April 15th--while early reviews of the 30 Days of Night DVD indicate that Sony has also placed the first episode of the vampire-themed Blood+ on the artic vampire saga, which is due out on DVD tomorrow. The 30 Days of Night DVD includes a number of other cool features including a detailed examination of the project's transition from graphic novel to the big screen.
The stylish Blood+ anime series is due out from Sony on March 4th in both a single 5-episode DVD (MSRP $24.98) and in a Season One Box Set (MSRP $119.95) that contains 25 episodes (see 'Sony to Release Blood+ Anime'). Sony is clearly hoping that fans of genre movies such as 30 Days of Night and Loch Ness Terror will be intrigued by the first episode of Blood+--and the fact that the Loch Ness Terror DVD doesn't come out until more than a month after Blood+, Sony is definitely promoting its anime series for the long haul.
