Chris Beveridge, the founder of the Anime on DVD Website, has announced that he has sold the site to the pop culture-oriented Mania.com.  Beveridge and his staff of volunteers from Anime on DVD will be taking the AOD site to the multi-faceted Mania.com where he and his crew will "be heading up their anime and manga platform."

Anime on DVD has been a great source for reviews of both anime and manga as well as a news source with solid contacts throughout the industry.  Mania.com, which "occupies" the same Webspace as Cinescape.com used to, is obviously attempting to compete with more established broadly-focused pop culture sites such as IGN.
