Variety is reporting that Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron will star in a live action film of Peter Chung's futuristic Aeon Flux animated series, which ran on MTV in the 1990s. Gale Ann Hurd, who has been developing the film for a number of years (see 'Paramount Planning Live Action Aeon Flux'), will produce the new film, which is being financed by Lakeshore Entertainment and Paramount Pictures. Theron, who won the Oscar for Best Actress for her bravura performance in Monster, will receive $10 million for starring in Aeon Flux. Karyn Kusama will direct Aeon Flux from a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Shooting starts near Berlin in July.
