Vertigo has announced six new launches and one returning series for Q4 (and made images available for four).
Two new series and a one-shot anthology will launch in October. The Witching Hour is one-shot anthology with stories about witchcraft, shipping for Halloween. Creators include Kelly Sue DeConnick, Cliff Chiang, Lauren Beukes, Emily Carroll, Matthew Sturges, Shawn McManus, Tula Lotay, and “many more.”
Coffin Hill is a new series written by dark fantasy author Caitlin Kittredge (Nocturne City, Black London, Iron Codex) with art by Inaki Miranda (Fairest: The Hidden Kingdom). The story is about an evil from the time of the Salem Witch trials that’s been released by a teenage girl and now is taking over the town of Coffin Hill.
The new series Hinterkind, written by Ian Edginton will art by Francesco Trifogli, is set in a Central Park village in a post-apocalyptic world in which humans have been largely depopulated by "The Blight." The creatures of legend and myth have returned and are not happy.
One new Vertigo series will launch in November: Dead Boy Detectives, by novelist Toby Litt with covers and layouts by Mark Buckingham (Fables). This title spins out of Sandman, and tells the story of two dead British schoolboys and their female accomplice, who solve crimes in the 21st century.
Two new series launch in December, along with the return of a fan favorite, American Vampire. American Vampire was a big title for Vertigo, and hit ICv2’s Top 10 Genre Properties for 2012 (see "Top 10 Genre Graphic Novel Properties--Full Year 2012").
The Discipline, by Peter Milligan and Leo Fernandez, is a dark, erotic thriller in which a young woman is ritually seduced and enlisted in a shadowy war between good and evil.
Suiciders is written and drawn by Lee Bermejo. It tells the story of two futuristic boxers in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles.
