The eight volumes of Solo Leveling take up the top eight slots on the Author chart, which is not surprising; the series has always been a strong seller, and the anime has taken it to a new level. What is surprising is the dearth of romances. There are just three: Vol. 1 of Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, a K-Pop based story, is on the chart for a fourth month, Vol. 6 of Villains Are Destined to Die, is back for a second month, and the Mature-rated BL manhwa Vol. 2 of The Dangerous Convenience Store is also making its second appearance. Gone are Lore Olympus, My Gently Raised Beast, and all those empress stories.
While the chart leans heavily toward action stories, there are a few exceptions, including the second volume of The Calvin and Hobbes Portable Compendium.

Recent volumes of Shonen Jump manga take up most of the Manga Top 20, but The Apothecary Diaries makes its BookScan Top 20 debut with Vol. 11. This was one of Square Enix’s early titles (see "AnimeNYC: Square Enix Announces Five New Manga"), and it’s a very readable tale of palace intrigue, but it has been late to the chart. Perhaps it’s picking up steam because of the anime, which began streaming in October 2023; the last episode aired in late March, so fans may be moving to the manga to get their fix.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin continues its reign at the top of the Superhero chart, with three more TMNT titles in the Top 10. Godzilla X Kong: The Hunted, a March release, is at number three, behind the build-up to the Legendary MonsterVerse film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which had an $80 million opening weekend late in the month (see "‘Godzilla x Kong’ a Monster").
Further down, the first volume of Superman: The Silver Age Omnibus made the top 20 despite a hefty $100 price tag, and Batman Beyond: The Animated Series Compendium – 25th Anniversary Edition also debuted on the chart.
