WizKids plans online advertising on CartoonNetwork.com, Newsarama.com, and Star Wars fan sites that will direct Star Wars fans to comic and game stores for a free sample pack of its Star Wars PocketModel TCG (see 'Star Wars PocketModel TCG'). Fans that click on the ad will be directed to a WizKids page that will ask their zip codes. Based on the zip codes and a list of stores that have ordered the game from Diamond or
Retailers that preorder the game by May 8th will be shipped the sample packs (with their regular shipments) in sufficient quantities to satisfy both coupon holders and their regular customers.
WizKids has also created a larger-scale POP model for use in stores. The POP item was given to retailers doing the Star Wars PocketModel demo at Games Expo, and will also be given to retailers doing the demo at GAMA Trade Show, and shipped to retailers with their first Star Wars PocketModel TCG order.
