In a classic example of cross-marketing Capcom has announced that the Collector's Edition ($79.99) of its Devil May Cry 4 videogame will come with a DVD that includes the first four episodes of ADV's 12-episode Devil May Cry anime series.  The Devil May Cry 4 game, which features the franchise's signature blend of guns and swordplay and is available for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, will be released on February 5th, 2008, and according to Capcom, 'Volume one of the four-disc DVD anime series will be available from ADV Films at the same time the game launches.'

ADV announced the acquisition of the Devil May Cry anime series, which is based on the Capcom videogame, at Anime Expo (see 'ADV Licenses Three More').  Produced by Madhouse, the shonen supernatural anime series debuted in Japan last June 14th.  Bingo Morihashi, one of the writers for the second, third, and fourth iterations of the videogame, was on the writing staff for the anime, which indicates that this anime series should follow the contours of the popular videogame very closely.
