Anime on DVD is reporting that Bandai Visual will release the 15-episode Sola anime series starting with the first of five volumes on June 10th.  Sola is a multi-media project conceived by Naoki Hisaya (Kanon) and features character design by Naru Nanao (Da Capo).  The prologue to the story appeared first in a shonen manga illustrated by Chako Abeno, which has been licensed for U.S. distribution by Broccoli Books (see 'Broccoli Nabs Sola Manga').  Broccoli plans to publish the first volume of the Sola manga in June, which means that both the manga and anime series will debut during the same month.

The Sola anime series debuted on Japanese TV during April of 2007 (13 episodes were aired on Japanese TV with 2 episodes released direct-to-DVD).  Bandai Visual's Sola Vol. 1 DVD, which will include the first three episodes of the series, will have an MSRP of $49.99.  No extras have been announced, though typically Bandai Visual provides a deluxe package loaded with features.  The Sola anime disks will carry the uncompressed PCM audio track -- something that should appeal to hardcore fans.
