WizKids will release two Clone Wars products for its Star Wars PocketModel TCG this year. The first will street on July 26th, along with a wave of other Clone Wars merchandise (see “Clone Wars Rolls In”). Star Wars PocketModel TCG: Clone Wars will be supported with a sampling program and release day kits. Additionally, it will be timed to arrive in stores on July 25th, a day in advance of the street date of July 26th, so retailers can be prepared for opening with their Clone Wars product early on Saturday.
The $150,000 sampling program will include sample packs for hobby stores and Toys R Us, coupled with an online advertising program on Cartoon Network and Star Wars Websites that will direct consumers to a store locator that will include hobby and TRU stores.
A release day kit will include ships and cards for promotional use, probably limited to stores meeting pre-order minimums.
A second, as yet unnamed, Star Wars PocketModel release featuring Clone Wars is planned for October.
