4Kids Entertainment has announced that Upper Deck will release the Dinosaur King Trading Card Game this October.  Based on the anime series that appears on the 4Kids' Saturday morning block on the Fox over-the-air network, the Dinosaur King TCG is an easy-to-learn game that will launch with an initial release containing more than 150 cards that feature realistic dinosaur images, real dinosaur facts, and all the moves needed in the Dinosaur King TCG.

Each player in the game uses a “Character Card,” spotlighting one of the show’s heroes or villains.  Players can then power up their cards with “Move” and “Super Move” cards.  The game will launch with a 40-card Starter Set, which players can supplement with 9-card Booster Packs.  The Starter Set offers everything needed to play, including a Battle Mat, a “Beginner’s Guide,” a free five-card booster pack and one of three oversized “Character Cards.”  Each of the 9-card Booster Packs, which are available separately, contains one rare foil card. 

Several levels of premium cards will be available including Silver Rare and Gold Rare foil cards, and the rarest of all, Colossal Rare cards, which come with eye-catching patterned foil art.

A second season of the Dinosaur King anime debuted in Japan this February (see “Second Dinosaur King Season”), Sega is releasing an interactive Dinosaur King card collecting video game this fall and Shout Factory will be releasing the first Dinosaur King DVD in the fall as well “Shout Factory Gets Dinosaur King DVDs”).
