The New York Times Review of Books gave Douglas Wolk’s review of Carol Tyler's You’ll Never Know a full page on page 8. That was room enough for Wolk to like both the story (“You’ll Never Know unfolds like a Rambling reminiscence, except without the boring parts”) and the art (“Every panel is lush with visual and psychological detail. Her swooping ink lines have the fluidity and force of paint.”), both by Carol Tyler in the recently released graphic novel from Fantagraphics. This Volume 1 in a planned three tells the story of the writer’s father, who finally began revealing his memories of World War II in 2002. This $24.99 hardcover was released April 29th.
