Del Rey has announced that Italian artist Massimo Carnevale, best known here for his evocative covers for Y: The Last Man, will provide cover art for Del Rey’s comic book adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s The Talisman.  Nei Ruffino, who is currently working on Supergirl and Green Lantern for DC, will do the coloring for Del Rey’s The Talisman, which is the mainstream publisher’s first attempt to create periodical comics (though Del Rey has published lots of manga and graphic novels).

Del Rey will launch The Talisman with an Issue #0, a never-before-told prequel to the Talisman saga, which will be available in comic shops on October 21st.  A limited black-and-white convention edition of Issue #0 will be given away by Del Rey at this year San Diego Comic-Con, which will take place from July 22-26.
