Online listings for the new July edition of Diamond Comic Distributor’s Previews (out in printed form next week) confirm that Boom! Studios has acquired the rights to the Disney Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse comics previously held by Gemstone (see “Gemstone’s Disney Comics in Limbo”). In his last “Lying in the Gutters column” at CBR, Rich Johnston had predicted that Boom Studios would acquire the Disney license and he confirmed it on his new Bleeding Cool site.
Two titles are listed under the Boom! Studios banner in the July Previews (for September shipping), Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories #699 by Riccardo Secchi and Stefano Turconi and Mickey Mouse and Friends #297 by Stefano Ambrosio and Lorenzo Pastrovicchio. Both comics are listed at 24 pages with a cover price of $2.99. No Duck book trades or digests are listed in the Boom! Stuidos section in the July Previews.
