Marvel has announced that it will release a multi-series adaptation of Dark Tower:  The Gunslinger, by Stephen King, beginning in 2010.  The creative team of Peter David, Robin Furth, and Richard Isanove returns to King’s work for this new series.  Story arcs will first be presented in miniseries, then collected into book format releases. 

Dark Tower:  The Gunslinger is the first novel in King’s seven-volume magnum opus, which was released from 1982 to 2005.  Marvel’s first comic series, Dark Tower:  The Gunslinger Born, was drawn from flashbacks from Dark Tower: The Gunslinger and Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass; subsequent Marvel Dark Tower series were new material. 

The Marvel Dark Tower series and collections have consistently been among the top sellers in both the comic and bookstore markets.
