At the Diamond Summit held in Chicago on the eve of C2E2, the subject of changing “New Comics Day” day from Wednesday to Tuesday, which has become the standard new release day for DVDs, CDs, and book releases, came up.  The majority of the retailers in the room appeared to be in favor of the change.  The discussion, according to Diamond’s V.P. of Sales and Marketing Roger Fletcher, was in conjunction with offering retailers in North America day-early delivery (i.e., delivering books on Monday for a Tuesday on-sale).

Fletcher indicated that Diamond would be releasing more information on the impact of moving new release day to Tuesday and polling all its retailers to get a sense of what they want before discussing the matter with publishers in earnest.
