After getting roundly criticized in all sorts of media venues for censoring a depiction of breasts in Throwaway Comics adaptation of James Joyce’s Ulysses (see “Ulysses Comic Too Much for Apple”) and a gay kiss in a comic book version of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, Apple has reversed course and admitted that the company “made a mistake.”

Apple spokesperson Trudy Miller told Slate: “We made a mistake.  When the art panel edits of the Ulysses Seen app and the graphic novel adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest were brought to our attention, we offered the developers the opportunity to resubmit their original drawings and update their apps.”
