According to Production Weekly, Marvel Studios is planning to put Runaways into production as early as January of 2011.  Peter Sollett, who directed the “hipper than thou” production Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist, is set to direct the film, which is based on Brian K. Vaughan’s comic book series about a group of teens who discover that their parents are secret supervillains (see “Runaways Gets a Director”).

Drew Pearce, the creator of the U.K. superhero-comedy series No Heroics, is writing the adaptation of Runaways.

No release date has been announced yet for Runaways, but PW has announced via Twitter that “Marvel’s The Runaways is planning a January--July 2011 shoot.”
