E-books amounted to 9% of trade book sales in August, according top AAP monthly numbers reported by Publishers Weekly. The $39 million in e-book sales in August was an increase of 172% vs. the year-ago period.
With an annual growth rate of nearly 3X and sales that are nearly 10% of the total, it’s not surprising that digital is the hottest topic for book publishers right now, with a rapidly changing landscape driving lots of activity at all levels: retail, wholesale, publishing, and authors.
