Martin Sheen has been cast to play the role of Uncle Ben in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, according to Deadline Hollywood.  He may be joined by Sally Field, who is in talks to join the film as Aunt May, according to the report.

Sheen will join Rhys Ifans as the villain (see “Rhys Ifans to Play Spidey Villain”), Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy (“Emma Stone Will Play Gwen Stacy”), and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. 

The movie will release July 3, 2012 (see “Spider-Man Reboot Shoot Set for December”).
