IDW has announced that Eric (Goon) Powell will co-write its new ongoing Godzilla series (see “IDW’s Ongoing ‘Godzilla’ Series”), Godzilla:  Monster World, with Tracy Marsh.  Powell will also contribute one of two 50/50 painted covers; the other is by Alex Ross.  Phil Hester is contributing the interior art. 

Powell has also painted a separate incentive cover, and will provide a one-of-a-kind and-drawn sketch cover as a retailer incentive.  Retailers will also be eligible for their very own cover depicting Godzilla stomping their comic store. 

Other monsters, including Mothra, King Ghidorah, Rodan, and others will appear throughout the series, including some that have never been featured in an American comic series. 

The first issue of Godzilla:  Monster World will ship in March.  The storyline will feature ordinary humans in a world gone mad, where monsters attack without warning.
