Elfin Werks and the Italian game studio Scribabs are joining forces to produce a new steampunk-themed board game, 011 featuring members of the Swedish symphonic metal band Therion. Band members will appear as protagonists in the game forming a team of heroes who have to combine magic and music to stop the wolf-god Fenrir from triggering Ragnarok and the end of times. Photos and images of the band will be featured in the game components and artwork.
The O11 game will be set against a backdrop of steam power and mystical energy. The game is designed for 3-6 players, ages 12 and up. It takes about 90 minutes to play. Players alternately control 8 mysterious characters who are working together to stop Fenrir, but only one of the eight is the "Chosen One," who can actually accomplish the task. The Chosen One has to collect the pages of a long-lost musical score and perform it before the world comes to a shattering end. But during the game one of the eight will betray his friends by opening his soul to Fenrir and betraying humanity in exchange for immortality.
