Cryptozoic has announced Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil, a new deck-building game based on the top Web comic for all things gaming whether video or tabletop. Faithful readers of Penny Arcade who have followed the way of the warrior, the story of the Cardboard Tube Samurai, who have sent in money to provide Baby Ninja with smoke bombs, and magic scrolls, should be able to fashion the perfect deck in this fun and frantic game (for 2-4 players ages 15 and up), which takes only 30 minutes to play.

Players select a hero card and can choose from Gabe, Tycho or any of the other stalwarts from the Penny Arcade comic. Players can purchase Gamer cards with their gold if they feel like consuming, or they can do battle against one of the Evil cards and wield the Cardboard Tube.   Player should take care to avoid the “PAX Pox,” and might consider skewering Dark Tycho for his epic loot. The possibilities are nearly endless in this game where the object is to build the perfect deck and win the battle of Gamers vs. Evil.

The Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil Box (MSRP $44.99) includes 412 cards, a rulebook, and a D20 die. Mike Donnais and Paul Sottosanti designed the Penny Arcade Deck-Building Game, which features art by Penny Arcade’s own Mike Krahulik.

Cyptozoic has already announced an RPG board game based on Penny Arcade’s Lookouts (see “Penny Arcade’s Lookouts Head to the Hobby”), which is slated to hit stores early next year. Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil is due out in September of 2011.
