Toy and game maker Hasbro has been fined $7.7 million dollars in the UK for forcing distributors to fix toy and game prices.  Hasbro threatened to stop selling to the distributors involved if they dropped prices on its products below the desired level.  The fine was the largest ever handed out by Britain's Office of Fair Trading.  Hasbro said it would appeal the amount of the fine, but did not deny that the events occurred.

The OFT is also investigating Hasbro's relationships with some of its direct retail accounts for similar price-fixing activities.  A finding in that case is expected soon.
