The title role in Ender’s Game has been offered to Asa Butterfield, the star of Hugo, according to Deadline.  Ender’s Game is being directed by Gavin Hood (X:Men Origins: Wolverine) for Summit Entertainment (see “Summit Makes Play for ‘Ender’s Game’”) and will be released on March 15, 2013 (see “Ender’s Game Gets Date”).  Marvel has produced five graphic novels based on the Orson Scott Card novel.

Hugo, based on the Brian Selznik graphic novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret and directed by Martin Scorsese, opens November 23rd (see “‘Hugo’ Trailer”).  Butterfield has also appeared as Mordred in the BBC series Merlin (being aired in the US on Syfy).
