Marvel has hired Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Palookaville) to direct its Thor sequel, according to Deadline.  Marvel had originally hired Patty Jenkins (Monster) to direct the film, but recently parted ways with her (see “Jenkins Off Thor 2”), which produced an angry reaction from star Natalie Portman (see “Portman Angry about ‘Thor 2’”). 

The film has been scheduled for a November 2013 release; with this quick hire of a Jenkins replacement, that date may still be within reach.
