"[T]he idea is to set it in Japan and really be respectful to the source material," screenwriter Dan Mazeau said of his work on the script for the new Warners Bleach feature (see "'Bleach' Feature Gets Writer") in an interview with IFC.  Mazeau drew the comparison with the unfortunate Dragonball Z feature.  "[I]t was a noble effort that ultimately didn’t succeed," he said.  "That's what we're trying to avoid.  We want to make sure this movie lives up to what the manga is."

Mazeau described his take on Bleach as an "action-adventure Sixth Sense, but obviously on a bigger canvas than that."

Mazeau also updated on his work on The Flash (see "Report: 'Jonny Quest' Scribe to Write 'Flash'"), which he said was “high on the list of what would be next" among DC films, and Jonny Quest (see "Live Action 'Jonny Quest'"), for which the producers are seeking a star, according to the report.

Mazeau was promoting his work on Wrath of the Titans.
