Here’s the first clip released by the CW Network for
Arrow, a new series that is based on DC Comics’
The Green Arrow. CW’s
Arrow will debut in the fall on Wednesday night where it will form a "geek culture" friendly block along with
Supernatural (see "
CW Puts 'Arrow' in Wednesday Night Slot"). After rejecting an
Aquaman pilot, the CW has decided to give
Arrow a chance (see "
CW Picks Up Green Arrow Series") to enjoy the kind of success that made
Smallville a network staple for a decade.
The first clip released from the new series provides some hope that Arrow might have some staying power. The sequence finds Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) sneaking into an abandoned factory (owned by his family evidently) where he puts on a fairly amazing display of his archery skills as he manages to pin a brace of tennis balls to the wall in rapid succession.
