ReedPop has announced that the New York Anime Festival, originally a stand-alone event and more recently co-located with New York Comic Con, will be folded into New York Comic Con and no longer marketed as a separate event. ReedPop promised that the "mission to serve the anime community will be a priority," and pledged to continue to bring Japanese entertainment guests to New York for the show. The NYAF Saturday Masquerade will morph into daily costume contests; and the live-events stages will be merged, as will the Artist Alley.
