WizKids is preparing an October release for Star Trek: Fleet Captains--Romulan Empire, an expansion for the Star Trek Fleet Captains strategic miniatures combat game (see "'Star Trek: Fleet Captains'").  The expansion, which was designed by Mike Elliott and Ethan Pasternak, adds the Romulan Empire to the game and will also permit a three-way contest with players representing the Federation, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulans all battling for supremacy in space.

 

The Star Trek: Fleet Captains expansion includes a dozen new Romulan ships all molded in colorful plastic as well as ten new Romulan command decks to support them.

 

The Star Trek: Fleet Captains Romulan Empire expansion also adds a new game mechanism, "espionage" complete with new "saboteur" crew members that allows players to place secret agents on their opponents’ ships.  Rules for utilizing the espionage mechanic and for the new three-player game are included in an updated rulebook.
