In its Ogre Kickstarter Update #42 Steve Jackson Games announced that the initial print run for the publicly-funded game project will be over 10,000 units.  The elaborate new Designer’s Edition of the classic game of future tank warfare that Steve Jackson originally designed in 1977 has brought in a Kickstarter board game record of more than $923,680 (see "'Ogre' Tops $923,000").

 

According to Update #42, more that 5,500 copies of the game were sold via Kickstarter, while distributor orders making up the remaining portion of the initial print run.  Distributors will be shipping the Ogre’s Designer’s Edition to retailers in November, and additional follow-on Ogre products are slated to be released in 2013.  Fifty-nine retailers purchased four-unit Ogre packages via Kickstarter.
