Dynamite Entertainment has announced the October launch of its first batch of calendars, a trio of releases that includes The Tolkien Art of the Brothers Hildebrandt 2013, the Jungle Girl 2013 Calendar by Frank Cho, and a Warlord of Mars 2013 Calendar by Joe Jusko.  Each of the full color, 12" x 12" calendars will have an MSRP of $14.99. 

 

The Tolkien Art of the Brothers Hildebrandt will include 14 pieces of original art created by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt for the 1976, 1977, and 1978 Tolkien Calendars originally published by Ballantine Books.  With the December 2012 debut of the first of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit movies, interest in the fantasy world of Middle Earth should be at an all time high in 2013.

 

The Warlord of Mars 2013 Calendar features the painted art of Joe Jusko, who is justly famous for his Savage Sword of Conan covers, the fully painted Marvel Masterpieces trading card set, as well as for his numerous cover paintings for DC, Top Cow, Harris, and others.  The Warlord of Mars Calendar collects the covers and other designs that Jusko has created for Dynamite’s ERB-inspired Warlord of Mars comics.

 

The Jungle Girl 2013 Calendar features the art of Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows), the largely self-taught Korean-American artist who is known as one of the finest "good girl" artists of the modern era.
