WizKids has announced plans for a Batman-themed expansion for its popular HeroClix game, as well as a new Organized Play program to support it.  The DC HeroClix: Batman Primer CounterTop Display will release on October 31, 2012, with the rest of the expansion products releasing on November 14:  the six-figure Batman Fast Forces Pack, including Batman, Nightwing, Red Robin, Batgirl, Robin, and Alfred Pennyworth plus two maps; the Marquee figure featuring Nightwing and Batgirl from the New 52; and the 24-count Primer Gravity Feed display.

This expansion features the familiar characters and villains from Batman’s Gotham City, and is set during a devastating earthquake and its violent aftermath. As an added feature, this expansion will include all-new HeroClix vehicles, such as the Batmobile and Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet.  Prototypes of the figures were on display at Comic-Con, and can be seen here: Batman Prototypes.

DC HeroClix: Batman will be packaged in a "booster brick" format.  Each brick will include eight regular five-figure Boosters and one vehicle Super Booster.  The expansion set will feature more than 50 different HeroClix figures, including some characters never presented in HeroClix format before, such as the WildC.A.T.s' Grifter, Zealot, and Maul.

The Batman expansion also kicks off a six-month Organized Play program based on DC Comic’s No Man’s Land story arc.  This story arc centers on an earthquake that leaves Gotham City devastated and cut off, descending into anarchy and gang warfare.  Players will have the opportunity to declare allegiance to one of the gangs competing for territory in the post-quake city.

Each month, in-store events will reward players with "Utility Belt" resources, which can be used as special 3D objects in the game, or combined with the "Utility Belt Resource Dial" to create a unique version of Batman’s own famous accessory.  Exclusive limited edition figures will also be offered as competitive prizes.
