WizKids plans to release a collectible HeroClix set based on the upcoming Hobbit movie in October. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey HeroClix set will feature more than 30 different figures. It will be fully compatible with the HeroClix: Lord of the Rings and other HeroClix products. Characters from the new film will make up the set, including a young Bilbo Baggins, the dwarf king Thorin Oakenshield, and the wizard Gandalf the Grey.
The game will be packaged for the core hobby market as a seven-figure
Campaign Starter, a 24-piece countertop booster display, and a
Marquee Figure. It will also be released into the mass market with a “Mini Game” and gravity feed displays.
