Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has signed on as a producer on the Josh Trank-directed Fantastic Four reboot from Twentieth Century Fox that is slated to debut in the spring of 2015. Mark Millar, who is overseeing all of Fox’s Marvel-based films, tweeted the news: "Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news. Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four."
Millar, who was hired by Fox as a consultant on all of its Marvel Comics-based films (see "Fox Does Deal With Millar"), is close with Vaughn, who financed and directed an adaptation of Millar’s creator-owned Marvel comic, Kick-Ass. The fact that Vaughn has signed on to produce Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot demonstrates that Millar, who was first to announce the deal, does indeed have some real influence over Fox’s Marvel-based movies.
