Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ Saga, a creator-owned title from Image Comics, garnered a slew of nominations for the 2013 Harvey Awards, which will be presented on September 7th at the Baltimore Comic Con. Saga received of prestigious nominations including "Best New Series," "Best Continuing Stories," "Best Writer," "Best Artist," "Best Cover Artist," and "Best Colorist."
Chris Ware’s massive box set Building Stories, which was the number one alternative comic release of the past 10 months (see "Top 10 Fiction & Reality Properties--Spring 2013"), also received multiple nods including "Best Graphic Album," "Best Cartoonist," "Best Letterer," "Best Single Story," and "Best Presentation," while Marvel’s Hawkeye was the most honored mainstream superhero comic with nominations for "Best New Series," "Best Continuing Series," "Best Single Story," "Best Writer" (Matt Fraction), "Best Artist" (David Aja) and "Best Cover Artist" (Aja).
Other breakout titles from 2012 including KaBOOM!’s Adventure Time, DC’s Batman, Marvel’s Daredevil, Image’s Revival, and Top Shelf’s The Underwater Welder also received recognition in the form of Harvey Award Nominations.
