Rio Grande Games has announced two new games in Thomas Lehmann’s Race for the Galaxy universe: a dice version of RFTG titled Roll for the Galaxy, due in September; and a new card game expansion, RFTG: Alien Artifacts, due in December.
Roll for the Galaxy, designed by Tom Lehman and Wei-Hwa Huang, is a dice version of the space empire-building card game. The dice represent workers, who are sent out to settle new worlds, ship goods and develop new technologies. The goal is to manage the population and build the most prosperous empire. The game is for 2 - 5 players ages 13 and up, with a release date of September 15th. No MSRP has been announced.
Race for the Galaxy: Alien Artifacts is a card game expansion also designed by Tom Lehmann, and while details are sparse, Rio Grande says it "will take the basic game in a new direction." It will NOT be compatible with other three RFTG expansions, but will require the base game to play. The expansion is for two or more players ages 13 and up, and has an MSRP of $29.95. It has a release date of December 2013.
