The CW confirmed that it will feature an origin story for Barry Allen as the Flash in episodes 8, 9, or 20 of the second season of Arrow, according to Deadline. Casting is about to begin for the character, which is new to Arrow. The Flash is also being considered for a spin-off series of its own for The CW, depending on the reaction to the episode.
CW president Mark Pedowitz did not sound very positive on Amazon, the Wonder Woman series that’s been in development for a while, in its Television Critics Association presentation today. A new writer was assigned in May (see "CW Puts New Writer on 'Wonder Woman' Project"), but Pediowtz said "the script isn’t where we want it to be," and said the project is on hold for now, according to the Hitfix live-blog of the event.
Pedowitz did say that using Flash for television creates no conflicts with film plans for the character, and that "we’re good to go." Asked more generally whether there would be continuity between film and TV uses of DC characters, Pedowitz said "Don’t know yet."
