Actress Sophie Cookson will play the female lead in Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic book series The Secret Service. Cookson, who has a very slim resume so far, joins the relatively unknown Taron Egerton in a cast that also includes veteran thespians Colin Firth, who plays super spy Jack London, and Samuel L. Jackson, who will play the movie’s villain.
Slated for a release in November of 2014, The Secret Service follows the adventures of the suave spy Jack London, who is training his working class nephew (Egerton) in the family business, when they become involved in trying to thwart a plot that involves kidnapping and mass murder.
