Sweetpea Entertainment, which is trying to make a film based on Dungeons & Dragons with Warner Bros. (see "Warner Bros. Gets 'D&D' Film Rights"), has counterclaimed in a suit against it by Wizards of the Coast, asking, among other things, that an injunction be granted blocking the competing movie being made by Wizards of the Coast and Universal (see "Dueling 'D&D' Movies"), according to Deadline. The counterclaim also asks for damages, and various other limits on WotC and its parent Hasbro’s ability to make a D&D movie.
The judge has tossed Sweetpea’s request for summary judgment (see "Swseetpea Asks Judge to Toss WotC Case"), meaning that barring a settlement, the case will proceed to trial.
