Viz Media’s entire digital manga library of over 1600 volumes is now available on the iBooks store, the company announced today. This rounds out Viz’s e-book strategy, which already had the company’s titles available on Nook, Kobo, and Kindle as well as in its own apps.
Viz CTO Gagan Singh explained to ICv2 recently that once the digital files are created, it’s relatively easy to add a platform (see "ICv2 Interview Part 2: Viz CTO Gagan Singh"). "The good news for me as a publisher is the cost to me to be on any of these platforms is not that significant," Singh said. "Once I have the file format worked out, you upload it and you’re done."
