Japanime Games and the French company Ankama Games will release Frigost, the first board expansion for their Krosmaster: Arena collectible miniature game (see "Kickstarter-Funded 'Krosmaster: Arena' Anime Style CMG"), in March 2014 with an MSRP of $45.
The expansion will add two arenas to the base set, a new Player versus Environment dimension to the gameplay, and ten new powers for players (endurance, internal fire, frostbite, armor and splicing). The game board is double sided, and includes 3-D elements, including ice cubes that players can shove across the board. It is an expansion, so the base game is required to play.
Japanime released Krosmaster expansion figure packs last summer (see "'Krosmaster' Expansion News"). Krosmaster: Arena--Frigost is currently on Kickstarter, where it reached its funding goal in under an hour.
