Bushiroad has announced details for the launch events and organized play program for their newest TCG, Future Card Buddyfight, which will release on January 24th.
The organized play program will debut in February, with launch events for the US during the week of January 24 – February 2. Bushiroad will conduct events at select locations the weekend of January 24 -26, consisting of teaching workshops and Trial Deck-only tournaments. There is no fee for the tournament, but player must purchase a Dominant Dragons or Savage Steel Trial Deck. Participants will receive a special foil-stamped and dated version of February’s promo card "Damocles Dragon," only available during the first week of release, as well as a Future Card Buddyfight deck case.
Future Card Buddyfight OP will consist of two recognized tournament formats: a "Best of 1" and a "Best of 3" format. The "Best of 1" format will be double-elimination, single match only, with a 20 minute time limit, and is intended for new and younger players (ages 14 and below). The "Best of 3" format is double-elimination, best of three matches with a 40 minute limit, and is intended for experienced players. Store can choose to run either format, but only English edition cards may be used. Stores already registered for Bushiroad’s other TCG OP programs are automatically registered to run Future Card Buddyfight tournaments, and the tournament sign-up is the same as with Cardfight!! Vanguard. Store tournaments are scheduled to start in February 2014, following the week of FCB launch events.
FCB marketing plans have been already shared (see "Bushiroad Launches 'Future Card Buddyfight' Marketing"), as well as plans for the first mini-booster release (see "'Future Card Buddyfight: Burning Valor'").
