IDW Publishing has announced an agreement with Rovio Entertainment that will see IDW publish an Angry Birds comic book based on Rovio’s popular mobile game, various iterations of which have been downloaded over two billion times.  IDW’s Angry Birds comic book series, which will feature the talents of creators such as Jeff Parker (Thunderbolts) and Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Tobin (Bandette), will launch in June of 2014.
 
Angry Birds has already spawned several highly successful toylines as well as an animated series (see "'Angry Birds' Gets Cartoon Series"), and a feature film is in development (see "'Angry Birds' Film") with The Simpsons writer Jon Vitti penning the screenplay (see "'Simpsons' Scribe to Write 'Angry Birds' Film").
