Michael B. Jordan, who played the teenage drug dealer Wallace on The Wire, Vince Howard on Friday Night Lights, and shooting victim Oscar Grant in the critically-acclaimed Fruitvale Station has been cast as Johnny Storm in 20th Century Fox’s attempt to resurrect the Fantastic Four film franchise that Josh Trank is directing for a June 19th, 2015 debut. Trank will direct from a screenplay written by Jeremy Slater and polished by Simon Kinberg (see "Simon Kinberg on 'Fantastic Four'").
Variety confirms Jordan’s casting as the Human Torch and reports that the studio is planning to begin testing actors by the end of the month.
