Drew Goddard will be the director of Sinister Six, according to Hollywood Reporter. Sony has been developing the Spider-Man spin-off, along with Venom, with a team of writers, including Goddard, working on scripts (see "Venom, Sinister Six Movies"). It was expected that if the film moved forward, Goddard would direct. He’s also the showrunner on the Netflix Daredevil series (see "'Jessica Jones' and 'Daredevil' Get Showrunners").
The plan is to introduce characters for Sinister Six at the end of Amazing Spider-Man 2 ("'Spidey 2' to Set Up 'Sinister Six'"), with Sinister Six presumably to follow Amazing Spider-Man 3, which is scheduled for June 10, 2016.
