Fox producers are raising the possibility of spin-off movies featuring Marvel characters from its X-Men movies, according to Entertainment Weekly. The current Fox regime is more open to spin-offs, and Lauren Shuler Donner, the producer of all the X-Men films, says that “We’re going to do right by it.”
Donner said she’s interested in solo movies featuring Mystique, Deadpool, and Gambit. Simon Kinberg, who’s at the center of all of Fox’s superhero efforts, gave a strong rationale for a film starring Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence in a solo role. “I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo.”
