Things are about to get a bit more interesting at Level 7. Lucy Lawless, the formidable actress who made Xena: Warrior Princess the object of desire for fanboys everywhere (as well as a symbol of empowerment for females), is joining the cast of the ABC TV series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at some point during the show’s second season, which kicks off on Tuesday, September 23rd at 8pm (ET). Marvel has several Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. variant covers due out in August to prepare the way for the new season (see "Marvel's Art of Level 7 Variant Covers" and "Small Screen Round-Up").
TV Guide reports that (in typical close-lipped Marvel fashion) nothing has been revealed about the character Lawless will portray on the series or how long she will be appearing on the Marvel Comics-based series.
