Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson confirmed he will star in a Warner Bros. movie based on Shazam, according to Cinemablend, which translated a Spanish language report from La Nacion. Johnson had previously strewn numerous hints in that direction (see "'The Rock' Hints He Will Play Shazam"), but it appears to now be official.
Johnson continued the slow-motion reveal by leaving open the possibility that he will play Black Adam rather than Shazam, but it seems unlikely given some of his earlier remarks. Johnson was slated to play Black Adam in a Shazam film back in 2007 (see "'The Rock' to Play Black Adam"), but that version never got off the ground.
