Blue Sky Studios, the creators of the Ice Age movies, has released a new trailer for its feature-length Peanuts animated film that is slated to debut nationwide in less than a year from now on November 6, 2015. The trailer indicates that in spite of the shift to computer animation, the character designs retain the essence of simplicity that made Charles Schulz’s creations so disarming in the funny pages, while the soundtrack reflects the jazz-inflected, piano-heavy sound of the Vince Guaraldi Trio, who provided the distinctive scores to the Peanuts TV holiday specials, which are obviously a huge influence on the new Peanuts film, which is being produced by Fox (see "Fox, Blue Sky to Produce Peanuts Feature").
Paul Feig, the producer of the new Peanuts movie, and director Steve Martino are both very aware of the need to respect the visual and aural hallmarks of the Peanuts franchise. According to USA Today: "The two guiding principles for Martino are making sure Charlie Brown's world is immersive while also staying true to the look and feel of the comic strips."
