As was the case in the comics channel last month (see "Top 300 Graphic Novels Actual--October 2014"), a title featuring a female Muslim superhero is #1 of the "Top 20 Adult Fiction Graphic Novels" sold in the book channel in November, based on this chart provided exclusively to ICv2.com by Nielsen BookScan.  Ms. Marvel Vol. 1:  No Normal, by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona, collects the first story arc featuring the newly redesigned character (see "A Muslim Ms. Marvel").

Ms. Marvel was one of three Marvel volumes in the top 20.  A golden oldie, Civil War (from 2007) was #11, perhaps stimulated by Marvel's announcement that it was going to revisit the property; and Matt Fraction's Hawkeye Vol. 3, which released in October, fell only three positions to #12 in its second month.

DC had four titles in the Top 20, with two Scott Snyder Batman volumes, the new Harley Quinn volume collecting issues #0-8 of the Amanda Conner-Jimmy Palmiotti issues, and the perennial Batman: The Killing Joke Deluxe Edition, by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland.

A Euro title placed unusually high; the third volume of Dark Horse Comics' Blacksad,  Amarillo, came in at #5.  The title placed at #14 in the comic store charts.  Created by Spanish creators Juan Diaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido, it's released first by Dargaudin the French market, with English following.

The Walking Dead, in the meat of its fall half-season, placed five volumes in the Top 20.

There were six manga on the chart, including two Attack on Titan volumes, the latest Naruto, Black Butler, and Fairy Tail volumes, and a new title from Seven Seas, No Game, No Life Vol. 1, which placed at #14.

DK Publishing's Batman: A Visual History HC rounded out the Top 20, at #17.
